Max Darkosadze, known across Georgia as Mr. Max, is a writer, a director and a contemporary philosopher; he is also a lecturer, a surgeon and an aviation instructor. Born in Tbilisi in 1995, he works between Georgia and New York and leads the foundation that carries his name.

Longer biography (120 words)

Max Darkosadze — Mr. Max — was born in Tbilisi on 26 August 1995. He writes books and long essays on responsibility, attention and deciding well under pressure; the first of them began as notes for the doctors training beside him. He is credited as a director, writer and actor, and directed and starred in the action film Cowards (2016); his credits also include Star Wars Zero. His philosophical writing turns on will, freedom, consciousness and the search for meaning. By profession he trained in medicine and in surgery and qualified as a flight instructor, and he teaches in lecture halls and briefing rooms alike — the two rooms that supply the material for what he writes and films. Through the Max Darkosadze Foundation he supports medical students, regional clinics and flight cadets across Georgia. He lives and works between Tbilisi and New York.
